The Little Shop of Horrors PG Dir. Frank Oz US 1986

For our March show, we’re offering something completely different!

We’ve booked a Saturday afternoon to show this unique musical, a parody of 1950’s horror movies. Rick Moranis stars as an awkward salesman in a rundown florist’s shop, who reverses the shop’s fortunes by finding and raising a man eating plant, a plant that gets totally out of control.

With an excellent ‘Greek Chorus’ of a Motown- inspired trio of singers; cameos from Steve Martin as a sadistic dentist; and Bill Murray as his masochistic patient, the film is hilarious from beginning to end, and all in the worst possible taste!

Capernaum (15) 2018

Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival, this Lebanese film tells the story of Zain, who sues his parents for the “crime” of giving him life.

Capernaum follows Zain, a gutsy streetwise child as he flees his negligent parents, survives through his wits on the streets, is jailed for a crime, and finally, seeks justice in a courtroom.

Capernaum was made with a cast of non-professionals playing characters whose lives closely parallel their own. A stunningly realised drama that charts the journey of children on the edges of society who find hope in spite of the challenges of their everyday lives. Featuring a host of astounding performances, this is a powerful and thought-provoking tale of hope.
